This is more than just a whisky, it’s a celebration of time-honored traditions, a taste of history in every sip.

Daftmill is more than just a distillery; it’s a return to roots, to traditions, and to the passion for Scotch whisky. Founded by Francis and Ian Cuthbert, a family with agricultural roots stretching back to the 1980s, Daftmill is an eccentric gem in the crown of Scottish distilleries. But what makes this distillery so special? The answer lies in the traditional nature of its production: Daftmill is a true farm distillery, a return to a bygone era.

All the barley used to create their precious whisky is grown by Francis Cuthbert on the family estate. But the surprise doesn’t end there, as the whisky is distilled by Francis himself, right there on the farm, out of season, two months in summer and two months in winter. A traditional method not seen in Scotland since the 1800s. Daftmill is also one of the smallest distilleries in the country, producing only 100 barrels a year. This makes Daftmill the only distillery in Scotland that can boast the title of “Single Estate Farm Distillery”, a true rarity in the world of whisky.

Now, let the tasting notes tell you the story of Daftmill: the initially shy aroma opens up to a wonderful balance of fresh tropical fruit, reminiscent of the sweet scent of mango, with persistent aromas of dried figs and tobacco. The taste is a wonderfully spicy journey, with a sweetness that develops into caramel nuances, while the finish is simply exceptional, with a unique aroma and waves of spicy, fresh, and persistent gingerbread.
