A story which is firmly anchored in the mid-1800s, a rum that will take you on a journey to the heart of Bermuda for a unique tasting experience.

Since 1806, when James Gosling embarked on an epic adventure across the ocean to expand the family business from England to America, the Goslings company has been an icon in the rum world. Aboard a ship laden with wines and spirits, he began a tradition that has lasted for over two hundred years, and Goslings Black Seal is the gem of their heritage. Gosling’s Black Seal is one of the few Dark Rums still on the market, and the Gosling family is the custodian of this centuries-old tradition.

This extraordinary rum, born in 1858, reveals an ancient recipe that called for a blend of three different Caribbean rums, from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad, carefully aged between three and six years and then processed and blended in the Bermuda Islands. The production process follows the British style, and sugarcane molasses is the key to everything.

This rum has won renowned international awards, including the prestigious Platinum Medal awarded by the Beverage Testing Institute. Its impact on mixology is also remarkable, as Gosling’s Black Seal is the key ingredient in preparing the famous national cocktail of Bermuda, the Dark and Stormy, a name that evokes the image of a dark storm on the ocean, just like the effect that its dark and enveloping flavor has on the cocktail.

Gosling’s Black Seal offers a sensation of warmth, softness and complexity, with flavors that evoke vanilla and linger with hints of wood, for an experience worthy of a lasting tradition.
