SIETE MISTERIOS MEZCAL - DOBA YEJ

Inspired by the land, legends and mysteries of Mexico, Los Siete Misterios was established in 2010 with only one objective in mind: to produce mezcals indicative of this great country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. With production centered in the district of Sola de Vega in the Sierra Sur Region of the State of Oaxaca, the natural climate and terrain is ideal for agave growth. At an altitude of 4700 feet and in the shadow of the majestic Sierra Madre del Sur mountain range, for generations the maestros of the local villages have tended the land to source these precious plants. Using only traditional production methods, every bottle is of artisan quality – deliberately made to preserve the whole spirit, heritage and tradition of mezcal.

This is the entry level expression from Los Siete Misterios, which is made from the agave type doba-yej and double-distilled in copper stills. Citrusy aromas of lemon, lime and grapefruit, and delicate notes of toasted caramel and violet are featured on the nose, whilst the palate is delicate, fruity and persistent. Taken from the 2013 vintage, this limited edition mezcal exudes immense character and complexity.
